Applications Now Open for Darmasiswa 2018/2019

DARMASISWA is a scholarship program offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relations with Indonesia to study Indonesian language (Bahasa Indonesia), art and culture in 59 universities in 2018. This program was established in 1974 as part of ASEAN initiative, admitting only students from ASEAN countries. However, in 1976 this program was extended further to other countries. Today, the number of countries participating in this program is more than 111 countries and it is organised by the Ministry of Education and Culture with the cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The main purpose of DARMASISWA program is to promote and increase the interest in the language, art and culture of Indonesia among youth of other countries. It has also been designed to provide stronger cultural links and understanding among participating countries.

University of Lampung has held Summer Course Program with the theme “Coastal Life of Lampung Province 2017” on Wednesday to Friday, September 6th to 8th 2017 in Kiluan Bay, Tanggamus regency. The tutor in the activity was Dra. Endang Linirin, M.Sc., Ph.D., an expert in Biological Science at the Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty at Unila.


Orientation Program for BIPA Students

Rector the University of Lampung welcome the BIPA participants


University of Lampung held “The Orientation Program for BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) Class in the Academic Year 2017/2018” on Monday, September 4th and Tuesday, September 5th, 2017 in the Senate Meeting room. The orientation was attended by the Head of Collaboration Development and International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Cipta Ginting, M. Sc., the coordinator of BIPA program, Dr. H. Muhammad Fuad, M.Hum., and the lecturers of BIPA. The agenda comprised: Self introduction by the participants and the lecturers of BIPA, Academic and non Academic regulations in campus, Dormitory rules and regulations, and the explanation about the facilities in campus such as: sport facilities, health unit, library, bank, student activity center and etc. In the end of the program, the students were guided to go around campus and visit some public places in Bandar Lampung.

Art Performance for Unila Foreign Students 2017

University of Lampung held the Art Performance for Unila Foreign Students in the Year of 2017 at auditorium of Agricultural Faculty on Wednesday, May 24th 2017. This moment was attended by Rector Lampung University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hasriadi Mat Akin, M.P., the vices rector, rectorate functionary, the deans, the Head of International Office Unila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Cipta Ginting, M.Sc., the lecturers, students from Unila and invited school students. 


Video Shooting for Darmasiswa Unila

Bureau of Planning and International Collaboration (PKLN), Ministry of Education and Culture was to make video documentary about Darmasiswa Program of Republic of Indonesia 2016/2017. This video is intended for cultural diplomacy and promotion. This activity was conducted in five cities: Bandar Lampung, Jakarta, Semarang, Malang, and Denpasar. For this purpose, the Darmasiswa Secretariate of PKLN in cooperation with University of Lampung did video shooting about Talo Balak Gamelan, a traditional Lampungnese musical instrument, on April 6-7th, 2017.


Discussing the Co-Work Project with Korea Institute of Energy Research

Mr. Yoo Jiho, Ph.D, Principal Research Scientis, with his two delegates from Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER) visited University of Lampung on Tuesday, July 7th, 2017. They were welcomed by the Vice Rector of  Planning, Cooperation, and Information and Communication Technology, Prof. Dr. Mahatma Kufepaksi, M.Sc., and accompanied by Dr. Erwanto, the Head of Agency for the Acceleration of Development University of Lampung, and Anshori Djausal M.T.


Attending the 9th Joint Working Group for Indonesian-French Cooperation

University of Lampung joined the 9th Joint Working Group (JWG) for Indonesian-French Cooperation on May 3-4th, 2017 at University Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta. Delegations for Unila were represented by Prof. Dr. Mahatma Kufepaksi, M.Sc., the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Technology and Communication, Prof. Dr. Ir. Cipta Ginting, M.Sc., the Head of International Office Unila, and Mr. Suratno. 


Batik Lampung Class For International Students

In this semester Every Thursday Darmasiswa students attend Batik class (one of Outing Class programs). It takes place at Roemah Siger Batik Lampung. They practice to make batik. They learn how to make “Batik Tulis” that consist of some steps as following:
