He said that the discussion about the importance of data at the conference was very prominent. The discussions raised included how data is managed involving information technology, then interpreted into information, insight, and wisdom.
Later, decision-making is made based on information data contained in insight and wisdom. “This is a framework of thinking that is actually not new, but in its implementation, it is very new because there is an enrichment of how data is better appreciated,” he explained. In the agenda, the Rector and his team reportedly conducted networking or developing cooperation during the conference with several university representatives attending such as America, Australia, Europe, Latin America, ASEAN (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia), and the Middle East. The development of cooperation is carried out with various Summit participating universities which are developing themselves in a transformative manner so that it is expected to be an inspiration for the acceleration of Unila’s development in the future.
QS pays great attention to the dynamics of competition at the university level in Indonesia. All universities that are ranked in Indonesia are universities that are truly committed to the quality of education, teaching, research, publications, community service (SDGs), and graduate employability. The reputation generated by Symonds’ QS-Quacquarelli ranking greatly impacts public trust. The reputation of the QS ranking strengthens the university’s branding. It is not only a basis for further development, in increasing the attractiveness of prospective students and placement of graduates for a career and doing business in the Business and Industrial World, but it is also important for lecturers, and professors in carrying out the tri dharma of higher education (education, teaching, research, community service) which is sustainable. The emphasis on internationalization is important based on cross-university, cross-country collaboration between professors, teachers, researchers, and students, through collaboration and exchange of professors and students, by optimizing the use of digital technology (Industry 4.0). University development policies have an impact on wiser use of the internet and are oriented to the benefit of prosperity. Then what is the function and role of universities in environmental sustainability, which of course becomes the emphasis of the new paradigm that the position of universities is very important. “The University of Lampung after this intends to quickly prepare to become a PTNBH in order to become a highly reputable university at the national, regional (Southeast Asia, Asia) level and then enter the world-class or World Class University,” said the Lecturer of the Management Department, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
