The International Office (IO) or Unila Office of International Affairs is carried out by the Technical Implementation Unit for the Development of International Cooperation and Services (UPT PKLI) University of Lampung. This unit was formed in July 2014 formed under Minister of Education and Culture Regulation number 72 of 2014 concerning Organization and Work Procedures of the University of Lampung with a mission to support the development of international cooperation and services. UPT PKLI is under the coordination of the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Cooperation and Information Technology. Before UPT PKLI was formed, the cooperation was coordinated under the Cooperation Section consisting of the Domestic Cooperation Subdivision and the Foreign Cooperation Subdivision, which were within the Bureau of Planning, Cooperation, and Public Relations.

University of Lampung (Unila) continues to be developed to be the one of the best universities in the country and is targeted to become a world-class university, there is a need to build a unit at Unila that coordinates and facilitates domestic and foreign cooperation. The office is intended to play an important role in collaboration such as to prepare arrangements or agreements with international and internal partners, to provide assistance in implementing cooperation programs, to provide hospitality to domestic and foreign guests, provide services to students, educators, and education personnel foreign parties, to carry out international promotion at Unila, and to maintain data and information about the collaboration carried out.

- Carry out services of educators and education staff as well as foreign students at Unila.

- Increasing Unila’s cooperation with educational institutions and government, private parties, and non-governmental organizations both domestic and foreign;
- Facilitating the implementation of Unila’s cooperation with educational institutions and governments, the private sector, as well as non-governmental organizations both domestic and foreign;
- Serving teaching and educational staff as well as foreign students at Unila;
- Serving educators and educators as well as Unila foreign students in the context of study activities or service abroad; and
- Carry out Unila promotions at home and abroad.
