SEA-Teacher Batch 8 has Officially Opened

(Unila): Sea Teacher or commonly called Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia Batch 8 officially opened today, Tuesday (3/9/2019). The opening was conducted by the Dean of FKIP Lampung University Prof. Dr. Patuan Raja, M.Pd.
Sea Teacher is a program that aims to provide opportunities for students from universities in Southeast Asia to have practical experience teaching in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia. This program was initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
The opening of the activity which was centered in the fourth floor courtroom of the Rector’s building was also attended by the Head of UPL PKLI Unila Prof. Cipta Ginting along with the leadership in the local campus Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.
In his report Cipta said, three students who participated in the Sea Teacher Batch 8 program were from Pangasinan State University in the Philippines, Franel Bautista Macayana Mathematics study program, Precy Canengneng Kindergarten Education study program, and John Joseph Zarate Biology study program.
“The three students will study for one month at the FKIP to further teach at three schools, namely YP Unila High School, Darma Bangsa High School, and SMAN 2,” he said.
The Dean of FKIP Unila said that the program aims to establish friendship between nations and cultures in Southeast Asia. “So this program focuses more on the introduction of culture rather than academics,” he said. [Gigih/Dara]
