This event is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding that was signed a month earlier between UCLG ASPAS and SDGs Center Unila.
“The goal of sustainable development is a global development agenda to improve the quality of human life by balancing social, economic and environmental aspects,” said Bernadia Irawati Tjandradewi, Secretary General of the United Cities and Local Governments Asia-Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).
“The role of local governments is very important in implementing the sustainable development agenda. One of the strategies to ensure that the entire agenda runs well is through monitoring and evaluation activities. Academics are parties who have the capacity and competence to carry out these activities, “he added.
Director of SDGs Center, Dr. Unang Mulkhan welcomes the cooperation in order to accelerate the implementation and achievement of the TPB with the UCLG ASPAC. “Academics as one of the government partners will contribute as much as possible according to their fields and functions in helping the government implement TPB while ensuring TPB targets and indicators are achieved properly,” he said.
Besides being guided by the TPB SDGs Center Unila Dr. Henky Mayguezz and Yunita Maya Putri, S.H., M.H., participated in the workshop by Hendra Susila Adi (Training Coordinator for Localise SDGs UCLG ASPAC) who delivered the basic materials for conducting monev, legal basis, reporting mechanisms, and filling out the TPB Monev form.
The Bandarlampung Government has a significant role in the implementation and achievement of TPB in Lampung Province. In its implementation, Bappeda Kota Bandarlampung as the leading sector becomes the planning coordinator as well as supervises all development activities carried out by Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).
“We hope that organizing the workshop will help Bandarlampung City, in this case the Bandarlampung Bappeda to monitor the progress of TPB implementation according to the targets and indicators that have been compiled in the Regional Action Plan document,” added Dr. Unang Mulkhan.
