Cooperation between Regional Police Lampung (POLDA) and University of Lampung (UNILA)

Inspector General. Pol. Helmy Santika, SH., S.IK., M.Sc., as the Head of the Lampung Regional Police, visited the University of Lampung (Unila) with the Main High Officials (PJU) of the Lampung Regional Police, Monday afternoon, 14.00 pm, June 5, 2023. They were welcomed by the Rector of Unila and his staff. university in the Meeting Room on the second floor of the rectorate building.
During his visit, Helmy Santika said that Polri is very open and appreciate the contribution of the Unila academic community in providing input and suggestions, especially in terms of expertise related to various police fields. He hopes that there will be closer cooperation between Polda Lampung and Unila in terms of research, education, and public services to realize various programs. One of the examples of the cooperation that is expected in the field of education and training for prospective members of the Indonesian National Police, particularly at the non-commissioned officer level, at the Lampung State Police School (SPN). Helmy Santika also said that the education and training curriculum at SPN Lampung still needs to be improved in order to produce a professional and quality generation of National Police.
In addition, he invited Unila to conduct research or a survey regarding the level of community satisfaction with the services provided by the Lampung Regional Police. He believes that Unila has a competent and credible research institution that can provide an objective picture and can be accounted for academically. Through this meeting, he hopes that the Lampung Regional Police officer and Unila can synergize and work together to make Lampung province safe, peaceful and prosperous province.
Rector Unila, Prof. Dr. Ir. Lusmeilia Afriani, D.E.A., I.P.M. hopes through this meeting the two parties can continue to work together in order to strengthen the cooperation. Furthermore, Lusmeila said, currently Unila has 35 thousands of active students from various regions spread over eight faculties. They can contribute to implementing programs in serving the community. Unila is preparing achievement scholarships for graduates of the SPN Polda Lampung with the best grades. Unila also opens opportunities for the members of the police who will continue their education in the master’s and doctoral programs.
