Discussion of Collaboration between Unila and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Malaysia

(Unila): Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Technology (ICT) of Lampung University (Unila), Prof. Suharso, led a meeting to discuss cooperation between Unila and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Malaysia on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
The meeting, held in the 4th-floor meeting room of the Rectorate, was aimed at supporting the efforts to achieve the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of Lampung University.
Suharso stated that in an effort to improve the quality and implementation of international collaboration, Unila continues to explore cooperation with several top QS100 universities in the world.
This activity is useful for supporting the accreditation of study programs in terms of international partnerships and also supports the process towards a world-class university.
“It’s not easy to collaborate with the top 100 universities. It’s not easy to exchange budgets. Now that we have the opportunity to collaborate, I’m trying to find a way to collaborate,” he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Geophysics Data Processing and Modeling Laboratory, Karyanto, S.Si., M.T., as one of the units that will collaborate with UTP Malaysia, stated that they have held several virtual discussions regarding the cooperation that will be carried out.
Karyanto mentioned that UTP is ready to collaborate with Unila and even ready to sign a longer-term cooperation agreement (PKS) for 3 years. This is intended so that cooperation can be sustained without having to extend it every year.
He also added that this cooperation can strengthen the MKBM program that Unila is currently conducting, as well as achieving KPI 3 on tridharma based on subjects, KPI 5 on international journals and conferences, and KPI 6 on cooperation with universities that are in the top 100.
“Research collaboration through the matching grant scheme (18 months) with reputable international journal outputs, as well as academic cooperation such as dual degrees, student exchanges, and virtual mobility programs,” he said.
