SUMMER COURSE PROGRAM 2017

University of Lampung has held Summer Course Program with the theme “Coastal Life of Lampung Province 2017” on Wednesday to Friday, September 6th to 8th 2017 in Kiluan Bay, Tanggamus regency. The tutor in the activity was Dra. Endang Linirin, M.Sc., Ph.D., an expert in Biological Science at the Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty at Unila.
The participants of this program were foreign students from Japan, Madagascar, Laos, and Yemen. There were some activities that have been run in this program, such as: The introduction of Lampung Coastal Environment: a. Coastal forest formation, Mangrove + Barringtonia, b. Coral reef ecosystem (Coral Reef), c. Coastal life communities; The introduction of Diving: a. Skin diving, b. SCUBA diving; The introduction of Environmental Rehabilitation Technique: a. Mangrove ecosystem, b. Coral Reef ecosystem, c. Rehabilitation Technique of Mangrove + Coral Reef; and Sea Mammals Observation. This program is aimed to introduce to the participants about mangrove conservation, coral reef ecosystem, and sea mammals (dolphin) observation.

Dolphin Tour in Kiluan Bay. There were so many dolphins swam around in the early morning at Kiluan Bay. This was kind of an amazing view.
The participants also tried to learn how to do Scuba Diving at Kiluan Bay, Lampung.

Participants from Japan, Ren Ogata, were preparing for Coral Transplantation.

The coral transplantation was planted under water.

Participants also did planting Mangrove at Kiluan Beach to show their senses of caring towards the coastal life around Kiluan Bay, Lampung.

The participants also visited Lagoon, one of must-visited place near the home stay at Kiluan Bay. This lagoon was placed next to the ocean.
